About Me

Hello and welcome to my blog! 🙂

My name is Lili and I am a Romanian expat living in Canada. It has been over four decades now since I have learned how to read, but my "serious" reading started a bit before high school. I was 13-14 years old when I had my first crush - Margaret Mitchell's "Gone with the Wind" and I met my first favourite writer - Fyodor Dostoevsky. In high school I also discovered my soulmate - Octavian Paler, a Romanian writer who is unfortunately poorly known throughout the world since his books are rarely translated to English.
I enjoy reading fiction, classic, biography/memoir and mystery/suspense books.

About this Blog

I do not review books! This blog was born to share my thoughts about the books I enjoy reading. I would always love to hear about other people's BookDates 🙂

BookShelves - the books I have read or intend to read organized by Author, Title or a custom search using the Sortable Archive
BookLists - the lists I usually use as a reference to decide what to read next
BookDates - some thoughts about the books I come across. It also includes a Projects section with long-term or short-term reading plans
BookAways - books that I have read which I will give away on a monthly basis
Romanian Shelf - thoughts about Romanian books I read

I hope you enjoy being around and I look forward to hearing your thoughts 🙂
