The Little Prince

"Moral allegory and spiritual autobiography, The Little Prince is the most translated book in the French language. With a timeless charm it tells the story of a little boy who leaves the safety of his own tiny planet to travel the universe, learning the vagaries of adult behaviour through a series of extraordinary encounters. His personal odyssey culminates in a voyage to Earth and further adventures."

Another little gem! If I’ve ever read it when I was a child, then I don’t remember anything; perhaps because it’s meant to be read (or re-read) by adults 🙂 The book was first published in 1943 when there were only 2 billion people on Earth (compared with 7.6 billion people today, in June 2018). Such an adorable and heart-warming ‘Little’ novella!

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.”

“It is much more difficult to judge oneself than to judge others. If you succeed in judging yourself correctly, then you are truly a man of wisdom.”

“Men have no more time to understand anything. They buy ready-made things in the shops. But since there are no shops where you can buy friends, men no longer have any friends.”
