I started this blog in June 2016 as my helper in keeping track and better organizing the books I read or I would like to read sometime in the future and I was also hoping to find, in time, other people to chat with about books. Back in 2015 I have read 52 books, one book per week. I wasn’t able to read that many books in 2016, but I had the chance to learn a lot about blogging in general (mostly by reading books about blogging), a very enjoyable and also challenging activity that kept me busy for days.
Here is a short list with my favourite books read (or re-read) in 2016:
Fiction
- My Brilliant Friend – Elena Ferrante (the first Neapolitan volume)
- The Elegance of the Hedgehog – Muriel Barbery
- The Cather in the Rye – J.D. Salinger (a classic re-read book)
- Husband and Wife – Zeruya Shalev
- Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant – Anne Tyler
- The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry – Rachel Joyce (inspiring for my upcoming Camino journey)
- The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy – Rachel Joyce
- What the Psychic Told the Pligrim – Jane Christmas
- milk and honey – Rupi Kaur
Nonfiction
- On the Move: A Life – Oliver Sacks (the best Autobiography I read in a long time)
- Open: An Autobiography – Andre Agassi (another 5-star Autobiography)
- When Breath Becomes Air – Paul Kalanithi
